Lyrics

Woke up last night, fell to my knees to pray
I had this terror in my heart the world would end today.
My ears were ringing, my chest was tight with pain.
So many things to do. I’ll never do those things again.

Flowers grow in the graveyard. Children dance with the dead.
All the skulls are smiling. One day the world will end.

In the morning I have my coffee, get dressed, head downtown.
Mamas walk with the babies Folks are busy all around.
I sit down in the park. Clouds float on by in the sun.
All those people keep on moving ‘til everyone is gone.

Flowers grow in the graveyard. Children dance with the dead.
All the skulls are smiling. One day the world will end.

Back home I see the news. It’s the same old, same old.
Turn it off ‘cause I’m tired of the same story told and told.
Looking out the window, birds twitter and bees buzz,
Finding a meal and a mate. The day lasts just because.

Flowers grow in the graveyard. Children dance with the dead.
All the skulls are smiling. One day the world will end.

At night I lay my head to rest, think of things to be.
What about tomorrow bring for my friends and my family.
Somewhere a couple falls in love, little ones skip and run.
Somehow my mind goes empty. I close my eyes and I’m done.

Flowers grow in the graveyard. Children dance with the dead.
All the skulls are smiling. One day the world will end.
Flowers grow in the graveyard. Children dance with the dead.
All the skulls are smiling. One day the world will end.

Satan laughs when you ask why, promises you’ll know when you die.
Satan laughs when you ask why, promises you’ll know when you die.
Satan laughs when you ask why, promises you’ll know when you die.
Satan laughs when you ask why, promises you’ll know when you die.
Satan laughs when you ask why, promises you’ll know when you die.
Satan laughs when you ask why, promises you’ll know when you die.
